It’s been a good past 2 days of bass fishing in South Florida. The weather has been warm and the bass are starting to bite everywhere. We’ve been on 2 trips in 2 days and haven’t landed anything too big except these nice 4 lb bass from Miami and West Palm Beach. The South Florida bass are starting there spawning cycle with each full moon because the water temperatures are in the high 60’s. The week before each moon the female bass should be heavily feeding to beef up for the spawn. If you are in the right place at the right time you should catch plenty of nice largemouth bass in South Florida! If you have any questions please e-mail me at floridafishing@bellsouth.net for more detailed information. We offer many different fishing options from Peacock Bass in Miami, Lake Okeechobee largemouth bass fishing and South to the Florida Everglades for Bass fishing. Please also check out my new website for Amazon Peacock Bass in Brazil at www.amazonpeacockbassfishing.net for monster Peacock Bass fishing in South America. It’s been a great New Year of fishing so far in South Florida for Bass and Peacock Bass. We’ve boated 42 bass on Sunday Jan. 6 th. in the South Florida Everglades and 17 Peacock Bass in Miami on Saturday Jan. 5 th. The size of these fish haven’t been large but the action has been red hot. With a few warm South Florida days and these lower water levels we are experiencing the fishing is only going to get better. We are fishing 2 to 3 times a week know and are getting great ideas of where the fishing is best. So if you would like more information on fishing South Florida in the Everglades or Lake Okeechobee for bass, or would like to know more about the South Florida Peacock Bass fishery e-mail me at floridafishing@bellsouth.net or give us a call at my cell phone number at (954) 445-1811.

Richard Hart and his friend Ray from London, England were out for 2 days of Peacock Bass fishing in Miami. For 2 days they boated 44 peacock bass up to 4 lbs. Most of these Peacocks were caught on shiners and rattletraps. Richard has been down twice now and is looking forward to an Amazon trip for monster Peacock Bass in Brazil. This picture of Richard is after he fell over the seat fighting this Peacock. It’s staying hot in South Florida for this time of year which should keep these Peacock bass willing to hit good. I was using rattletraps to help locate the fish while Ray and Richard caught them with the shiners. It’s been a great week fishing for Peacock Bass deep in the rainforest of Brazil. The fishing was awesome but the catching was a little slow because of permit problems. The Amazon requires outfitters to have permits to fish particuliar areas because of commercial fishing for locals which made it difficult to get to the low water areas we needed to fish. The camp had a total of 4 anglers which boated probably 40 fish up to 16 lbs. which is usually on the slow side. But I had a great time and the service was second to none. The peacock bass fishing numbers are usually around 15 to 25 per day per fisherman. So a little slow but still awesome. Most of these fish were caught on topwater lures and small jigs. As these water levels drop over the next few weeks the fishing will improve dramatically. Brazil offers such a diverse opportunity for Peacock Bass fishing from backwater lakes and lagoons to wide rivers with many tributaries. The scenery and wildlife was also quite beautiful and something to see. If you have any questions or would like more information about fishing the Amazon River basin contact me at (954) 445-1811 or e-mail us at floridafishing@bellsouth.net. The bass fishing in the South Florida Everglades continues to be good considering higher water. Bass fishing in Florida really depends on water temperatures and levels especially in the Everglades and Lake Okeechobee. When the water is high and hot the bass tend to be sluggish and head into the heaviest cover or the flats for better oxygen and cooler shady water. The will also suspend on the drop offs in the center of the canals and sometimes head to the bottom. I’m still catching good bass lately as evidence of these fish caught today. I also fished a night bass tournament Friday 9-14-07 and many 20+ limits were brought to the scale with countless stories of the big bass that broke people off including myself. The Peacock Bass also tend to bite quite well in hot water and can be fished all year round with good success. We were out two weeks ago and the Peacock Bass in Miami were still actively feeding. Peacock bass love warm to hot water because of their Amazon nature and being a cichlid aren’t overly affected. So if South Florida is a summertime destination for fishing give bass or peacock bass a try in the beautiful Florida Everglades or Miami and Ft. Lauderdale canals. We’ll the fishing for bass in the Everglades is still decent considering high hot water conditions. We were out today for a 5 hours and caught 6 bass up to 5 lbs mostly just under the surface. The biggest bass got away again and was quite large but that’s what all fisherman say isn’t it! For late summer the fishing was o’kay and if the rain stays away the spring time is going to be absolutely incredible! For more info check out our website at www.southfloridafishing.org and www.basspeacock.wordpress.com for more blogging. We fished last week with Rich Zankowski and his daughter Kylie for peacock bass in Miami. The peacocks bite o’kay in the heat if you can take it. Kylie caught 3 nice peacock bass then had to rest from the heat. For more information on our Peacock Bass and Largemouth Bass guide service in South Florida check us out at http://www.southfloridafishing.org/ . The bass fishing in the Everglades should be o’kay with the lack of hurricanes or rain South Florida is not receiving. Thank goodness! The spring fishing for bass is going to fantastic! We also are now providing blog information about big peacock bass fishing in the Amazon deep in the Brazil rain forest. Check out this new blog at http://www.amazonpeacockbass.blogspot.com/ or http://www.southfloridapeacockbass.blogspot.com/ for all the information you need on booking a vacation fishing for Peacock Bass in South Florida or the Amazon. The fishing in South Florida for peacock bass and largemouth bass is still quite good. We decided to fish for a half-day for bass yesterday and boated 15 bass up to 4 lbs. After about 11:30 am we had to head back to the ramp because the South Florida heat and thunderstorms were getting the best of us. The summer is a good time for peacock bass and largemouth if you know when and where to fish. Peacock bass usually love hot water and fast moving baits because their metabolism is high. Give us a call for more detailed or booking information at (954) 445-1811 or check out our website at www.southfloridafishing.org . We also are now offering trips to Brazil deep into the Amazon for monster Peacock Bass and this information can be seen at the website or at www.amazonpeacockbass.blogspot.com.
